7/29/2010 2:44:00 PM Update: Looking for witnesses to Dunkirk shooting
Investigators want to speak with any witnesses of last night's shooting, where an armed 42-year-old man was gunned down by police yesterday after a standoff in the Town of Dunkirk.
Around 7:20 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded domestic incident at 2853 Aaker Road in the town of Dunkirk after a female caller reported her husband was intoxicated and causing a disturbance, and she wanted him removed from the home, according to a news release issued by the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators would like to speak with an adult male who was seen bicycling near the incident on Aaker Road between the hours of 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm. The Sheriff’s Office is asking the man, or any other witnesses, to contact them via the tip line at (608) 284-6900.
The Dane County Coroner’s Office has an autopsy scheduled for 2:00 pm. Following that procedure, further information on the mans identity and the cause of death will be provided by the Coroner’s Office.
In accordance with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office critical incident policy, a total of six deputies have been placed on administrative leave.
