Cooperation born from Norwegian Summit

Nearly 100 people spread between two tour buses will roll into town this weekend to get a taste of Norwegian culture. And another 100 will be on their way next weekend. That’s exactly the kind of turnout local community groups and businesses have been hoping for since a community discussion was held last January.

Citizens of the year: Preserving memories with Dianne, late Dick Anderson

They were a hub for Stoughton in both a literal and figurative sense. They knew a lot of people in a lot of circles – youth sports, Rotary, local business. And for years, they were the husband and wife at the heart of the Stoughton Courier Hub. But what might have been their crowning achievement was the creation of the Memory Walk, a sanctuary for people seeking to remember lost loved ones and to heal. For spearheading the creation of that Walk over the last year, and for community service that goes back several decades, Dianne Anderson and her late husband Dick are the Courier Hub’s “Citizens of the Year” for 2011.
